Sometimes the "Precious Memories" in our lives will not seem so precious. There will be times that we will get drawn to the sad, uncomfortable memories of the past. We will dwell on them instead of the new life we were given through our Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ. God made a way through His son, Jesus our redeemer, who died for us on the cross. Jesus made a promise that he would send a comforter, the Holy Spirit, who will live in us.
John 14:26 But the [a]Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you. ~Amplified Bible
For me, during these last two months, has been a reflection more about my past showing up and then the Holy Spirit comforting me through those memories which have surfaced in my dreams. Yes, each sad memory ended with a Holy Spirit encounter showing and reminding me when Jesus stepped in and changed everything. Those sad, tearful dreams went poof and dissipated into a joyful, happy-tear-time, when the "Comforter" turned the bad to good.
Lord Jesus, thank you for walking back through every second of my life up to this exact moment. Thank you for healing me of all my hurts, my fears, my painful memories, and my guilt; for setting me free. Thank you for filling me with your love. Help me to love myself. Help me to love others. But most of all, Jesus, help me to love you as I should. I thank you for giving me joy. I thank you for giving me peace. Thank you, Jesus! I thank you for going way down deep into the darkest recesses of my mind and cleansing me. I thank you for healing my mind, my emotions, and my memories. I thank you, Jesus, for making me whole; and I give you all the praise and all the glory. AMEN!
